This fantastic product is made by Award Winning ‘Sloemotion’ in Yorkshire. It is a fantastic addition to your drinks cabinet and makes a fabulous gift.
Conservation work on the farm ended up yielding lots of fruit on the hedges helping wildlife. Twenty years on it’s still being made in the same way; hand-picked, hedgerow fruit steeped in their own Hedgerow Gin with a bit of sugar – how our country fore-fathers have made it for centuries!
The high concentration of fruit to gin results in a sweet and fruity liqueur, tasting predominantly of aromatic cherry from the sloe, a hint of almond from the stone, with a dry finish from the gin and a strong warming glow. Highly recommended with the Lancashire Bomb, or Isle of Wight Blue Cheese.
Serve neat. Or, if you’re in a celebratory mood add a tot to prosecco, cava or Champagne for a Sloe Royale. Sloe Gin is also an ingredient in lots of classic cocktails, like a Charlie Chaplin, or the aptly named, Blackthorn. Or, why not try a Sloe Gin Negroni or Sloe Martini.
